From my deviantart: Nov 21

I have decided, by this time next week, I'm posting a new video on youtube!!! Either Canon in D (No matter how massacred it sounds) or Silver Bells (Still needs polishing though...).

So watch out everyone!

Heheh, what brought this on? Well, I'm finally tired of all the lazing about I've doing. It's either eat, sleep, read manga, or read fanfiction all the time. I've barely touched the keyboard my aunt gave me (Hardly surprising since I love the feel of an acoustic too much.. but still!). Anywayz, I owe this to my piano teacher for leaving without saying a word. I just hope that the kind soul that she is will understand. So I'm when I get back there in Bacolod (Whenever that may be) I want to show her that I never gave up piano.

Right now I'm so happy to know that there is a place where I can practice on an acoustic. My aunt says she took lessons there and is willing to drive me to check it out on her off day. Of course I still need to learn how to drive myself before I even think of enrolling (Waaaah!!! Texas driving handbook is scary....actually, I think I might be just too lazy to read the thing...).

I've also chatted with Patrick some time ago... and I just can't believe some of the things he said ( Not telling it here!)! Sigh... oh well, there goes an opportunity lost... hmm, but I wont say this is over yet...

So yeah, that's been my life for the past few weeks since I arrived here. Oooh! before I forget, I finally have my fish tank complete! Two goldfish, three betta females and three male 'tequila sunrise' guppies! They're so cute, the guppies! I think I'll post a video of them on youtube too!

Ciao for now!

From my deviant art: Nov 7 entry

Okay, So I have now finally made up my mind... It's official! I am staying here in Texas.

It's really been a tough battle, weighing out the options and all the factors involve. I won't bother listing them all here since most are quite personal and I'm not the really the type to spill out my guts on the internet. Anywayz, out of boredom and having nothing to do, I'm actually writing down this entry.

I'm going to miss Bacolod and the Philippines and I am very much upset that I have to break my word to some of the people who have been a big impact on my life. To those mentioned who are reading this right now, I apologize. Moving to the otherside of the world (literally the otherside of the world even!) without any prior warning at all leaves a bad taste in mouth. I myself had no intention of staying here at first. I just hope I am making the right decision. I know I have to be strong and wait a while. I will most definately be back home soon and see everyone again. For now, I have to focus first on what I want to do with my life and find a way to make it happen.

Pursuing piano lessons will have to take a backseat for now sadly... I'll just have to content myself with self study unless something changes and I am suddenly able to take piano lessons again. I am just ever so grateful to Tita Lou for giving me her old keyboard (it's touch sensitive!) though it's nothing like a PRIVIA, it has one more octave of notes than my keyboard back home at least. I just wish i could find some way to tell Ms Ching that i'll be staying here in Texas. She's the best piano Teacher I had so far!

There is an upside for me at least. I get to have my own room now (Cheers!). I have a brand new fish tank and better resources to maintain it. And even though I'll be starting college all over again, studying here in the US is a very rare oppurtunity indeed. And if we can get immigrant status (it'll take at least a year or so... i think), I''l be able to freely come and go into the US. I just hope I won't blow this chance... So, people of the world, wish me luck and that God may bless us all and let us see each other again soon!

Peace out!

Sept. 5 - Lesson 7

So, we didn't get to have our lesson at the usual time since it had to be rescheduled, so Ms. Ching (My teacher) and I had it last friday just after lunch instead. I think I was a little 'cause of the change in schedule, but it went fine nonetheless. :)

What we did was aside from more polishing of the Ladler I'm doing, she gave me another piece to learn for the upcoming christmas recital. :) It was a medley of folk songs for two pianos and its twice as long i think. Not to sure 'cause we went through the piece slowy... very slowly... I have trouble with the finger and the notes beyond the ledger lines.

It's a fun piece though! I just hope she wasn't serious about memorizing the whole thing in a week... O.O It's four freaking pages long - for primo and secondo each! Ah well, I'll do my best to get as much of it in my head as possible for our next lesson. I'll just have to tackle it bit by bit... So far, I think I got the Leron Leron Sinta part right... :) 5 more parts to go!

:) Ciao!
Till next update!

Aug. 27 - Lesson 6

Okay, so here's what we took up this morning's lesson:

*Finger exersice
*F Major scale
*John Thompson's Modern Piano Course Book 1 pp. 16-32
- Broken Chords
*John Thompson First Grade Etudes pp. 1-3

Those are the new things we took up today.

We worked a bit on Beethoven's Landler in D and I've got it mostly memorized. I still can't play it smoothly though and those grace notes are tricky..... very tricky..... :P

The finger exercise mentioned above is where I play a diminished chord in a way that is meant to help strengthen my 4th and 5th fingers. I'm not sure, but i think this might be one exercise she made on her own.

She also gave me a new book to work on, the John Thompson First Grade Etudes. She was gonna give me a different book, but it was a bit too advance for me so we settled with the etudes. We did three today.

Then we breezed through the next couple of pages in JT's book 1 and the F Major scale was introduced.

Well, that's about it.. :) Till next update! :)

Lupang Hinirang on Keyboard

Here's a link of me playing Lupang Hinirang (the easier of the two version that I have) on my Yamaha PSR-125. Comments and critique would be appreciated. :)
